Writing principles
- Start with the question a learner is actually trying to answer.
- Use plain English and original, realistic examples.
- Explain important differences, limitations, and common mistakes.
- Avoid padding, misleading claims, and unnecessary jargon.
- Credit original authors and sources when summarising their work.
Review and updates
Lessons are checked for clarity, internal consistency, spelling, grammar, and whether their examples match the explanation. Material changes are reflected in the page's updated date. Publication dates are not changed merely to make an unchanged lesson appear new.
Corrections
When an error is found, the priority is to correct the page rather than defend the original wording. Corrections should preserve the canonical URL whenever possible so readers and search engines reach the improved version.
Scope
Vocabulary and grammar pages are learning aids, not substitutes for a qualified teacher or a complete reference dictionary. Book pages are independent summaries and do not replace the original works.
